Marketing and Business Development training

The most effective marketing tool any organization has is its staff but can you honestly say yours generate as many opportunities as they could? If your barristers are going to spearhead your business development they need to have the skills, confidence and focus to get out and win the right work from the right clients.

The good news is once they get it right their activities will generate better results than any advertising, sponsorship or hospitality.

To help win work in this changing environment, the Bar Council has joined with Size 10 ½ Boots, a business development consultancy specialising in delivering training to barristers and chambers' administration.

In-house training is now available through the Bar Council for barristers, clerks and administrative staff to benefit from this expertise. Training will take the form of 90 minutes' marketing and business development surgeries after court hours in-house. The course content is tailored and bespoke for each chamber and the content will be designed around your requirement upon completion of a consultation form.

All training will be specifically designed for your needs.
Here are some questions and issues barristers, clerks and chambers' administrators have benefitted from in previous workshops, webinars and surgeries:

  • How can chambers win work more efficiently and effectively?

  • How can barristers compete more easily in a more competitive environment?

  • How can you win more instructions from events, seminars and networking with solicitors?

  • What alternative ways are there to win work other than networking?

  • How can LinkedIn and other social media channels help you and your set?

  • With limited time, what is the easiest way to build visibility and profile?

  • How can you get better results from getting articles published and/or speaking at seminars?

  • What do solicitors really want from barristers and how do they decide who to instruct? And,

  • What marketing and business development activity delivers the best return?
