  • 23 April 2013 - The Bar Council, which represents barristers in England and Wales, has welcomed the finding of the House of Lords EU Committee that the Government has not made a convincing case to opt-out of about 130 EU police and criminal justice measures and that to do so would have significant negative repercussions for the UK’s internal security.

  • 1 April 2013 - The Bar Council, which represents barristers in England and Wales, has today published A Guide to Representing Yourself in Court. The Guide, which has been compiled by a range of Specialist Bar Associations, including a number of QCs, sets out an insider’s view on how to find free or affordable help with a legal problem, how to start and defend a claim, how to represent yourself in court and advice on specialist sections of law.
